Alexandra loves to train voices across all genres! She has her own private teaching practice, and is a Vocal Coach for Downe House School in Berkshire. Formerly Alexandra taught for the London Studio Centre, Berkshire Maestros and Esher College in Surrey, but the main body of her work is now freelance.
Alexandra teaches people from age 16 to adult, all abilities, amateurs and professionals, everything from opera and classical music to pop and jazz. She particularly likes teaching people that say they can't sing, whether this is a self belief, or a something they have been told their whole life!
Alexandra also works with public speakers such as actors, as well as those in the corporate field and Barristers' Chambers, assisting people that use that voice for their living. Understanding how to project and maintain the voice consistently is vital for those working with their vocal sound regularly and covers aspects such as authentic voice delivery, being heard and understood as well as how to be more engaging.
Alexandra teaches singing and speaking based on a strong understanding of how the voice actually works. You will learn to control your breathing (for both voice use and nerves!), learn the meaning of "support" and discover and strengthen the muscles of vocalisation, produce your own unique sound and develop your range and vocal flexibility. Alexandra has a good knowledge of the Estill Model where required, having completed Levels 1-4 and one year of EMT training. Alexandra teaches singing and vocal production without judgement! She can help you unlock and find your voice, free tension and let go. Whether you require a technical singing lesson, a singing lesson for fun, look no further. Learning to sing, is the art of allowing your body to do what it knows naturally.
